in Italy
Press release July 3, 2014
Carrefour announces today the acquisition of
53 supermarkets under the Billa banner from the Rewe Group. Located in three
regions of northern Italy, Lombardy, Liguria and the Aosta Valley, and with a
combined sales area of 58,000 m², the stores generated net sales of around 300
million euros in 2013.
This acquisition, consistent with Carrefour’s
multiformat strategy, will allow Carrefour to strengthen its presence in
northern Italy.
The completion of the transaction is subject
